The Summer

The birds are out, grass is growing and Katherine's hair has been limited in length.
First: The Tri-tail.
Next: Removal of the offending hair = infinitely attractive mullet.
Mmmm hair.
Shorter...
annnddd shorter. Plus, you know it's a great hair cut when hair winds up in Jessie's mouth
Ta-dah! Fini.
I pretended I was a fairy and tossed her hair all over the yard for the birdies.
It's been a good day.

This One's for Katherine

We had a glimmer of Internet this morning during which I was able to register for classes, frantically check my mail and post some of the things to the blog that you see below, and then also attempt to try to upload this video. It failed and failed and failed again. However, on a whim I decided to go to the computer lab on campus before class (which is where I am right now, squinting at all this business I'm typing on this nasty-sticky keyboard) when it crossed my mind to search for the video to see if, after thirty minutes of spinning hourglasses, decided to upload successfully. And guess what? It did! Hurrah! However, I also have an outdated version of the Flash player required to run said video to make sure that it's actually there. So I'm going to put some blind faith in youtube and embed the video. Hopefully it's there because it's a good one! Enjoy...

Peter, hopscotching from the COM building on campus down to the field while we waited for the Space Brothers comedy show to open (15 minutes late, of course). Hope Katherine sees this and has a great day in France-land.

Tab! You're It!

This is a silly post, but one that I'm going to put up anyway because I can and that's just how it's going to be.
I've been collecting can tabs for... oh about a year now. I don't really drink anything that comes with a tab so I've been getting them from my Grandparents and Star. That's pretty much it really, so all these tabs are from two people, except a couple from Katherine because it's getting towards the end of the quarter and she's running on energy drinks and caffeine.
I have a couple vague ideas of projects that I could use these for. But since it IS almost the end of the quarter I'm going to content myself with blogging about these tabs instead of actively doing anything with them. I guess homework SHOULD come first, that's the theory anyway.
These are the two shapes tabs generally come in. Squarish and roundish.
These are the colors I have. The green ones I know come from energy drinks... the light blue I think are from cream sodas from Star, I think, but the rest are a mystery. If you know, then maybe you shouldn't drink so much soda that you know what color the tabs on the cans you're swilling from are.
The plain silver tabs make up the majority of my collection. They fill one of those Lucerne yogurt tubs I have a bajillion of (it's tasty yogurt and the containers are handy for flower pots, to hold extra powdered sugar and to hold the rocks from my mosaics). I'm not at the stage of procrastination where I feel desperate enough to actually count them all, but I think it's safe to say that you people drink ALOT of soda. None of these are from the cans that litter Evergreen's campus, or the ones I see by the side of the road (though I am tempted to take those too, it's just a little weird (I DO pick them up and throw them away when I see them, you naughty litterbugs you)).
Drink up mateys! Arrrrr...

The House and Surrounding Area

Paul, Katherine, Evan and I went to look at the house we'll be renting next year in Olympia. It's just outside of Oly., near two parks and there's a bike path that looks super easy to negotiate and get into town.
One of the parks.

Katherine.
The front of the house.Looking into the back yard.
The back yard.
back yard yet again, and the sliding door.
Still the back yard.

Here's a video of the house. I decided to take a video so that the layout would be easier to see. The house HAS been trashed (there are three guys living there now and you CAN TELL!) it's pretty disgusting, but that will change over the summer in August when it gets fixed up (good luck Evan!). So... here's a preview!

Epic Fruit Salad

Star and I made some sweet sweet fruit salad. Katherine turned the epic nature of fruit salad into music and rocked out.

Corbin's Keys

It's the little things that matter most in life... knitting, bunnies, chocolate...
and oh yeah, Corbin's keys floating in jello.
