BEES! and lavender

The bees are everywhere and oh so happy. I have to stop myself from picking them up like those little pipe-cleaner chicks you get at Easter, because unlike those wee chicks, bees have a way of making any attempt to cuddle them unpleasant.

I SEE YOU STARZIPRIZZLE!

Oh I'll give you your blog post. Just you wait and see. In the meantime...
I'M WATCHING YOU!
Creepy, eh?

Winnie Vs. Woodblock (true love or bad dinner date?)

The video quality isn't particularly good this time but I had to post this. It's late at night, I've FINALLY cleaned Winnie's cage and since she's been chewing the paint off of her cage it just occured to me to give her something to do in her cage at night. I gave her a wood block from a set we've had since Jessie and I were wee things. She seized the block and immediately started carrying it around and hording it in the back of her cage. She's also started to hold it in her little hands and gaze admiringly at it (or hungrily.. it's hard to say). Anyway, it's pretty adorable and it gives me the giggles. Hope you likey....

Wee Willy Winky

Ps. She really does that with her tail.. I didn't even touch her. It was PERFECT!

Winnie Vs. Toilet Paper

Winnie sleeps during the day. All day. From about 6 in the morning until 8 at night. I stuck some toilet paper in her cage for bedding and I guess she just discovered it at about 3 in the afternoon. She's clearly not awake and CLEARLY irritated that she didn't discover the paper earlier. This is the only time I've ever heard her make any noise and while this is totally hilarious for me, I'm sure that the rest of you will think I'm being rediculous and crazy. I can't resist, I'm posting this vdieo, so... deal.

Winnie-Bear

Winnie had a grand adventure on my window seat on 4th of July.
Winnie, listening to the fireworks in the valley.
She had to make sure that everything was in order several times before she could sit still and start chewing on the various electrical cords within reach. She has these wierd long hairs that make her look like she's wearing little pants as she waddles around .

This was right before she discovered my potted plant and ate something out of it. I don't know what it was but it must have been tastey because she quickly stuffed this mysterious substance all the way back in her cheeck pouches so I couldn't get to it. I'm not worried because she's the kind of hamster that would survive the end of the world and go on to rule over her fellow survivors... the cockroaches.
She spent most of her time wrestling with my curtains and squeeking. Very cute...
