I Was Cleaning Out My Folders

When I found one I called "articles". Whaaaa? Backstory: I have lots of bookmarks, I love each of them and tend to enjoy going back and look at all of them, grouping, sorting rediscovering. But this "articles" folder had never been touched so I opened it. Inside was a veritable treasure trove of stuff. All sorts of little stories and collections, I'll even share a couple of them with you. They're all good, in one way or another. Enjoy!

from Defective Yeti: Iraqi Invasion: A Text Misadventure. (ever do those games where someone describes an environment and then you have to try to negotiate your way out and it requires that you keep track of where you are in your head? This is one of those, and you are Pres. Bush.)

Clientcopia (a collection of the stupid things clients tend to say, posted by those of us wading through a life of interacting with the general public).

from Rollingstone: Boss Hog (a story about the pork industry and how utterly nasty it is. This is why I don't eat meat. It's not from any sort of sympathy with animals (although that is part of it), but more because the industry, as it is now, is so destructive and unnecessary that it makes meat a toxic death trap).

Weight Watchers Recipe Cards from 1974 (a collection of recipe cards depicting what passed for "diet food" in the 70's).

from: Nothing is Real: Why I will Never have a Girlfriend (a look at the statistics behind dating, hilarious).

La Vida Robot (an article about a group of kids from Pheonix, AZ who compete in the national underwater bot challenge. It's a very sweet story.)
